IT and Software Development Manager

Job Responsibilities: 

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day productivity of the team, managing work volumes and priorities in line with business requirements.
  • Ensuring progress reported consistently through daily reporting of activities
  • Identifying performance and training gaps and managing personal development of each member of the team.
  • Ensuring that KPIs are being controlled and achieved.
  • Providing the updates regarding project status.
  • Driving timescales and quality improvement
  • Overseeing planning development to achieve program
  • Manage project demand and resources involved with all activities.
  • Delegating work and projects across the team, and re-assigning resources and priorities according to the business needs.
  • Provide technical expertise on all aspects of the software and hardware development
  • Supporting and mentoring team members
  • Working closely to the GIS team and the Design process team to develop new procedures and tools in line with a delivery-oriented approach
  • Working with ArcGIS Enterprise daily
  • Be an authority on the existing Network, acting as final point of call for fault escalation.
  • Network solution design, maintenance, and optimisation.
  • Ensure network availability is kept above the SLA thresholds.
  • Assess, maintain, and enhance network performance and security.
  • Proactive response to alarms and monitor the network status.
  • Create technical documentation starting from network designs, troubleshooting manual and procedures to user guides.
  • Work with all the key stakeholders to ensure project tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Carry out migration/maintenance tasks as required by the business.
  • Create testing methodologies and ensure rigorous testing is carried out against each solution.
  • Support junior members of the team with the technical queries.
  • Responsible for GIS Analysis, GIS Modelling, Data Integration & Conversion, Geocoding, and Geomatics.
  • Develop web mapping applications and geo-processing tools to support GIS

 

 Experience Requirements: 

  • Programming languages such as Python, SQL, C++, and/or Java to write code and automate basic GIS processes
  • Basic GIS architecture (desktop and web): Understand the architecture of GIS and the method of communication between the different parts of GIS.
  • Web Services knowledge and experience
  • Ability to understand data models and structure
  • Good working knowledge of Python or R
  • Experience with interfacing API and Web Services
  • Knowledge and experience of ArcGIS, QGis and PostGIS
  • Experience with PON based infrastructure
  • Network solution design, migration, and implementation experience.
  • Ability to design data models and Structured Query Language (SQL) knowledge
  • Data conversion: The ability to convert data from either older sources (digitization) or from multiple sources to either a common format or common schema. It is extremely useful to be able to work with data coming from GPS and performing data corrections as needed
