Viberoptix Ltd is an exciting new telecommunications company incorporated January 2020. We deliver frontline services to fibre network providers across the UK and Ireland. As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a Splicing Planner to join the team.

 This position is based in Cumbria and is an ideal opportunity for a driven individual who has the ambition to succeed and progress within the company.

The role:

• Pre-siting and planning the splicing work, including planning the job requirements, permits, traffic management
• Liaising with permits and TTRO support along with traffic management co-ordinators to ensure all road closures, permits and traffic management requirements are in place to enable fluid work
• Provide assistance to splicers on site, including acting as the second person on the job for duties such as pit lid lifts, attending with a tripod to assist with works in a BT manhole, assist with mechanical lifters and ensuring PIA compliance
• Assessing sites and ensuring site set-ups are correct, and all compliance documents are complete and accurate, such as site specific risk assessments
• Provide reports on site compliance within the splicing team
• Liaise with Cable teams and managers to assess where cable is located and ready for splicing
• Identify and notify the design department of joint locations and amendments where required
• Provide general support to the splicing team, including support on splicing and testing
• Ensure relevant Health & Safety standards are followed and achieved

The person:

• Ability to produce, update and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings and network design maps
• Ability to work on their own as well as part of a team
• Experience of testing and splicing on a Fibre network
• Confident working at heights and underground network when required
• Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills
• Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Full valid driving licence
