We are seeking Traffic Management Trainees for work across Cumbria.
The Role:
- Assist with installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management such as deploying cones, signs, frames, sandbags and other equipment on low-speed roads
- Ensure safety is paramount for the public and colleagues
- Undertaking traffic counts, timings and near misses
- Assist with checks on equipment, reporting any defects and ensuring all required equipment for a job is available
- Assist with maintenance of temporary traffic lights
- Support completion of required paperwork for each job
- Be prepared to help with yard duties and general housekeeping as needed
- Overall adherence to health and safety across the business
The Person:
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 is desirable
- Excellent time-management skills
- Flexible approach and positive attitude to work
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and proactive approach to work
- Good, positive attitude to work
- Ability to work in a strong team environment
- Full UK driving licence

- Undertaking traffic counts, calls to clients and subcontractors, timings and near misses
- Carry out checks on equipment, reporting any defects and ensuring all required equipment for a job is available
- Maintenance of temporary traffic lights
- Completion of required paperwork for each job
- Helping and guiding new trainees
- Be prepared to help with yard duties and general housekeeping as needed
- Overall adherence to health and safety across the business
The Person:
- At least 1 years’ experience of Traffic Management
- Relevant traffic management qualifications (Lantra)
- Qualified up to 12D or 12ab with M6 is highly desirable
- T1 / T2 qualified
- Knowledge of Chapter 8
- Excellent time-management skills
- Flexible approach and positive attitude to work
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and proactive approach to work
- Good, positive attitude to work
- Ability to work in a strong team environment
- Full UK driving licence
